Buckwheat is one of today’s new superfoods. It is not a grain, but actually related to the rhubarb plant. Rich in oils and highly nutritious, it makes a great addition to hemp or a sole particle for fishing. The seed has an inner kernel, similar to hemp, and we find a 50/50 combination of buckwheat and hemp seed after preparation makes for an enhanced particle mix that keeps carp grubbing around your hookbait for ages.

Buckwheat only needs 10-15 mins boiling time until the kernels open. A great way to cook these is to first boil your hemp and as soon as the first hemp seeds begin to open, to add the buckwheat and cook for a further 10 mins. The oils in the hemp and buckwheat combine for greater added attraction. This is a tried and tested mix we provide for our anglers when they want to use particle.
